Sugar & Wrinkles - September 22nd, 2009

We all like some degree of sugar.  After all, we use it all the time.  But that being said, that sugar may cost you more than you are actually expecting.  Sugar is one of the major causes of wrinkles.  It can be found in just about everything.  Natural sugars like those found in fruits and vegetables(not the sugar cane you add to it after) are good things, and they are combined with the antioxidants as well that will help your skin in combination with the vitamins and minerals you find in fruits and vegetables.

I am talking about the sugar cane that can cause serious issues such as diabetes, heart disease, digestion problems, and an affected immune system.  It also affects the collagen and elastin found in your skin, which is why it naturally accelerates the way your skin ages and causes premature wrinkles.  All in all, the added sugars are not a good thing.  The added sugars are responsible for obesity to some degree, which can cause stretch marks, ultimately sagging skin when you hopefully lose the weight, and various other problems.

So while you probably won’t avoid sugar all together, it wouldn’t be a bad thing at all to avoid as high amounts of it.  Also don’t turn to artificial sweeteners.  They are actually worse.
