How To Properly Moisturize - August 28th, 2009

Dry skin is just not comfortable, it’s not attractive, it’s not anything you want.  So you have to moisturize correctly without overdoing it but while getting the job done.  This can of course be tricky.  The first step is to wash the face with a proper cleanser.  A proper cleanser won’t dry out the skin, irritate it, or cause further damage.  This will go a long way in terms of helping you to achieve the results you are looking for.  But then you want to look into different kinds of moisturizers, and by this I mean day creams and night creams.

Day creams are more for protecting the skin from further damage while also moisturizing.  On the other hand, night creams are meant to rejuvenate the skin to a higher degree and repair it while it’s naturally trying to repair itself anyway.  So you have to have both of these, and frankly night creams are generally speaking thicker and have more powerful ingredients that can function better in general anyway when you use it right.  So it’s important to have both these moisturizers while also using the right cleanser to get the proper and optimum moisturizing and skin benefitting effect.
