Copper oxide pillows, mattresses, and otherwise magnetic things have been all the rage lately. They have been said to prevent or cure cancer(which is definitely not something you want to listen to), cure backaches, improve your skin, and even get rid of wrinkles in the case of the copper oxide pillow in particular. It even impresses some when they actually claim to have clinical studies to back it up. But when you actually look into it, there are no studies, actually they don’t exist.
That being said, laying on your face on a pillow actually creates more wrinkles, because it creates usually temporary indentations in the face, which after a while have a greater tendency to stick around. This in mind along with the fact that copper, even in pillows does not produce more collagen and elastin or otherwise reduce wrinkles, there are not really good signs. It’s possible they were going around the idea that copper peptides have been extremely popular in the anti wrinkle market.
However, it doesn’t work in at all the same way. You have to actually have those peptides which actually have nothing to do with copper despite the name which would seemingly make it quite obvious in some ways.
