Anti-Aging Smoothies - September 9th, 2009

One of the most appealing ways I’ve found to fight aging while young is through an anti aging smoothie.  I’ve always liked smoothies, and I like fruit well enough.  But frankly a diet plays a big part in how your skin ages and is really able to take care of itself.  So basically, when you make an anti aging smoothie, while you can buy a smoothie from the store, you should really make your own.  This will help you to take control in general of what you are actively putting into your body. 

Obviously, the first thing you want to do is to look for fruits.  Fruits are high in antioxidants first of all, which kill off free radicals and therefore help you to fight off aging, sun damage, and pollution damage among other things.  They also tend to be nutrient dense, meaning many of the essential vitamins your skin needs are being provided, making it doubly beneficial.  There are some specialized ingredients found in things like oranges, carrots, and tomatoes that you should really look for.  But the key is to look for brighter colors and antioxidant rich ingredients to put in an antioxidant rich smoothie for anti aging purposes.
